Square Enix at E3

Shadow of the Tomb Raider
Got to see some of the opening and a more indepth look at the gameplay for the newest addition to the Tomb Raider franchise. A Mayan apocalypse is on the horizon and Lara Croft must use the Jungle landscape to her advantage as she maneuvers into the perfect position to take out Trinity soldiers and save the day. The scenery is captivating and promises the biggest map to date with a story to match. With a release date of September 14th of this year, This is definitely Square Enix’s most anticipated game of the year!

Final Fantasy XIV Online
The popular MMO is getting a new patch called Under the Moonlight. This looks to be promising, but nowhere near as exciting as the announcement for the crossover with Monster Hunter World! Two worlds collide and the adventure begins Summer 2018!

The Awesome Adventure of Captain Spirit
Set in the universe of Life is Strange, this is a game that promises to have a unique story and fun way to tell it. I’m curious to see if it will still use your choices to determine how things later in the game are affected. The cool thing is this game will be available for FREE on June 26th.

Babylon’s Fall
It is always a thrill when a new IP is announced and this is no exception! From PlatinumGames, known for Bayonetta and Nier:Automata, it looks to be another heavy adventure game. It is coming out on the PS4 and PC sometime in 2019

Dragon Quest XI: Echoes of an Elusive Age
If you have never played a Dragon Quest game before, fans of Dragon Ball Z and Chrono Trigger will recognise the artistic style of Akira Toriyama. This JRPG is very color and has the feel of a classic of this genre with an updated look. It will release September 4 of this year

Just Cause 4
If I am being honest I know nothing of this franchise. That being said it looks to be a whirlwind of an adventure! It promised the biggest hub yet, with amazing scenery set in South America, and lots of action! This is set to release on December 4.

The Quiet Man
From the short trailer this looks to be an interesting game. It opens up on what appears to be a live action cutscene with a man walking down a shady neighborhood. Some thugs start to hassle him and telling him he is in the wrong place. He silently signals to his ear, which seems to indicate he is deaf. Goes from cutscene to gameplay brawl. No release date yet, but it is set to come out on PS4 and Steam.

Kingdom Hearts 3
People have been waiting years for a release date on this game and it appears to be worth the wait. It shows more Disney worlds opened to Sora and his companions, as well as the return of Riku and the Organization 13, and featured a new single from Utada Hikaru. January 29, 2019 is the release date.
